TVS Sports Surfaces is a market-leading specialist in high performance shock pad underlay systems and highly durable surfacing solutions for indoor or outdoor sporting requirements.
Our shock absorbing preformed rubber underlay systems are designed to give the best possible player experience on any type of artificial turf or athletics track system. Each has been tested to meet the highest standards for shock pad systems as laid down by the respective governing bodies of individual sports. Their preformed nature allows for minimal wastage, easy installation and consistency in performance.
Our Uni Versa and Uni Classic surfacing systems offer a vibrant alternative to outdoor sports surfacing and indoor sports halls. The highly grip resistant, high performing surface allows for easy installation into any area. It can be line-marked to cater for one or multiple sports, and the EPDM’s composition of the system allows for great durability in any environment.
Types Of Athletics Surfaces
Athletics surfaces are generally made from either of two materials: needle-punched polypropylene or polymeric rubber. These surfaces provide professional-quality play characteristics, and we can fine-tune the performance and feel of the surface with different elastic underlayers to reduce fatigue and risk of injury.
The right type of athletics surface for your use case depends on what level of performance you desire and what your athletes like to use. Needle-punched polypropylene and polymeric rubber are both good options for athletics tracks.
Needle-punched polypropylene and polymeric rubber are spike resistant with an open-pored surface. Our EPDM rubber (polymeric) surface has anti-slip property R10 (DIN 51130) and a friction coefficient of approx. 0.8μ. This is the same specification pro athletes use when training for professional games like the Olympics.
You might also like to consider our spike-resistant IAAF-certified SW1200 track, a fully compliant professional athletics system. This system delivers soft performance underfoot and it can be installed indoors and outdoors.
The great thing about our EPDM rubber athletics surfaces is they can be installed on any solid floor. Just clean your floor, roll out the new rubber, cut it out and glue it onto your pre-existing concrete, macadam or other in-situ layer.
The top surface is only one part of an athletics surface, however, which can also be made up of a thick rubber underlay system. The underlay absorbs impacts and reduces user fatigue, helping to reduce the risk of injury and improve feedback and response.
